Mercanti Penthouse for rent

Print Friendly and PDF

Beautiful Roman jewel near restaurants, bakeries and craftsmens’ workshops. Amazing two-level tower 2 bedroom penthouse overlooking central Rome. Possible third bedroom. Lovely BBQ eat-out terrace. 2 bathrooms. Lift.
You will feel the very special nature of this place – it is an architect’s jewel – overlooking the eternal city. This is a wonderful, romantic Roman penthouse, conjured up in an ancient building in one of Rome’s great piazzas by a top Roman architect. He played with the curves and created a tower penthouse jewel over Rome with a very large eat-out terrace and views of St. Peter’s and the roofs of ancient Rome. It has that wow factor that only an ancient Roman place combined with modern interior design can give you.
An elevator provides easy access to the top floor of the well maintained 1600’s building and if you arrive by car there is security parking in the immediate area.

It has two bedrooms. Plus a snug alcove, normal ceiling height, which can be improvised as a third bedroom. One of the ensuite bathrooms has two entrances so it works fine. From the master bedroom you have a view of one of the 7 hills of Rome (the very green Aventino, one of the more fashionable and upscale places to live in Rome).

The master double bedroom has an ensuite large jacuzzi bath, a plasma TV, and original beamed ceilings. The second bedroom can fit two beds or a double bed as you prefer. There’s an ensuite bathroom with a decent shower and easy access to the roof top garden.

The spacious living-dining room area boasts original antique cotto floors with original wood rafter ceilings and fireplace.

There are two kitchens: one fully equipped modern kitchen on the bottom floor and a kitchenette with fridge, toaster, coffee machine etc on the roof top garden.

Piazza Mercanti is one of the most well-known piazza’s in Rome, home of Taverna Mercanti, home to top Italian singer Venditti (he owns the building next door), and the very beautiful Cathedral of Santa Cecilia.
This is the quieter side of Trastevere. Windy cobble stone streets just as the Northern side of Rome’s entertainment/ancient slave district, but there are no huge crowds here. Lots of pubs, restaurants etc within a minute walk.

We offer 3 apartments in Rome in this vibrant central area: Mercanti Penthouse, Casa Nobile Loft and Casa Nobile Terrace Loft.
We can organize from valet parking, to Italian cooking classes chez you, Yoga by a US certified instructor, catered breakfast with local ingredients on your terrace – ready for when you wake up, skip-the-queue Vatican tours, etc. When you book, we will send you an informal list of tips about Rome and your planning info.

The Trastevere area
The Lively Area of Rome: Mercanti Penthouse overlooks Piazza Mercanti one of the most well-known piazza’s in Rome – home of Taverna Mercanti, home to top Italian singer Venditi (he owns the building next door), and the very beautiful Cathedral of Santa Cecilia.where dozens of ancient restaurants and more modern coffee shops are located. You wander the cobble-stoned streets and see what you bump into – this is not a typical entertainment area of a big city where things are all in a row. In Trastevere you find cute places tucked away in unexpected places. You can still see the tradesmen working in their workshops which have been in the family for generations. In fact many of the streets bear the name of the type of trade that was practiced there in ancient times. ‘Vicolo dei Cappellari’ for example was the hat makers street… You get to everything by foot within minutes and at the end of a long day – once you are laden with shopping bags, the taxi back is cheap because we are so central.
